Balerion was founded by a team of AI researchers and engineers from UC Berkeley who spent years working on large-scale machine learning systems across financial services, robotics, gaming, and insurance. The common theme was customers drowning in manual work, losing thousands of hours to work that AI could handle.
We built Balerion to change that. We saw firsthand how small, missed details in lending applications could quietly disqualify borrowers and cost them the home they’d been working toward. In that moment, our vision stopped being an idea and became a responsibility: to meaningfully improve how mortgage lending works and help continue to protect access to the American dream of homeownership.
